Just over a decade ago a young B.C. Canadian by the name of Dave Cowley discovered the ultimate summer escape from the bustling and polluted
urban city streets of Vancouver. Nestled in a beautiful mountainous
valley, the pristine waters of Sakinaw Lake provided the ideal natural
landscape for various outdoor activities such as boating, fishing,
camping, and an altogether peaceful relaxation.
As
a carpentry expert, Dave soon built his dream cabin and the serene
environment of Sakinaw Lake served as the perfect weekend getaway for
his close family and friends. Unbeknownst to him, Dave would soon
encounter an unexpected but exciting life alteration when he came
across the vibrant energy of Suzie St-Cyr and her beautiful daughter Melissa Sue.
A French Canadian with Caribbean origin, Suzie moved to Western Canada
over 16 years ago specializing in Business and Hospitality and now
fluent in both French and English. Suzie and Melissa Sue were very
pleased and excited (to say the least!) when they first experienced
Dave’s dreamy escape and have spent countless holidays and weekends
revelling in all that this utopic environment provides.
The
cabin served as a location for family vacations and adventures for
years, but weekend trips just were not enough. Suzie and Dave loved
every minute of what Sakinaw Lake had to offer and their dream to share
the experience grew after they married in 2000. Upon realizing that
they preferred this peaceful and remote environment over chaotic city
life, they discovered a way to achieve their dream.
With
Dave’s 22 years of experience as head carpenter and project coordinator
at Vancouver’s Grouse Mountain Ski Resort, coupled with Suzie’s 25
years of experience in the hospitality industry, they have turned their
dream into reality by investing years of hard work, time, and energy
into creating the perfect Bed & Breakfast Retreat and opening their private cabin into an experience that can be shared
by great people from all over BC, North America, and around the world.
We
invite you to partake in our dream and experience the relaxing,
fun-filled days that we’ve had the opportunity to enjoy ourselves for
years on Sakinaw Lake. Come stay at Sakinaw Lake Lodge and spend the
night in one of many beautiful, private rooms. Wake up and swim in the warm waters before indulging in a delicious breakfast prepared by Suzie, who specializes in French
cuisine. Spend the day in the sun and partake in a multitude of outdoor activities such as fishing, kayaking, boating, and experience the excitement of
various water sports such as tubing, waterskiing, knee or wakeboarding. Wind down and relax by soaking in the hot tub
overlooking the picturesque view of the lake and surrounding mountains.
Spend the evening around the campfire while gazing at the billions of
stars overhead as they illuminate the surreal landscape of Sakinaw Lake.
We invite you to relax, unwind and enjoy all that this
surreal, natural environment has to offer.
